Leaves

I always believed that there wasn’t much of a fall season in California because visiting family from California would comment how they missed Autumn in the MidWest. Shortly after moving to the west coast myself, I was delighted to see the trees turn when the weather got cooler. I wanted to capture the brilliant colors and textures of these leaves. I used the little brown leaf in the lower corner to balance and contrast the bright grouping and bring perspective. This was really fun to paint.
